My business partner and fellow creative, Ryan Brant, launched a design inspiration and project management platform for creatives by creatives called Campfire. It was our my step into entrepreneurship and learned a lot through the process. Campfire dissolved after a little over 3 years.

Our application was made by creatives for creatives working in the entertainment industry who want to push their creative work to a higher level. We saw a need for designers, filmmakers, and creatives who were underserved and using older tools to search for the best creative content round the web. We decided to create something that allowed us to find everything we need in one location and began to quickly develop the framework and logic for the site.

One of the first issues that inspired us to create Campfire is that on any given day, it was not uncommon to find our browsers overloaded with open tabs from dozens of websites as we searched for new techniques, new tutorials, inspiring videos, and anything that would help us to create new and innovative projects.

We wanted to create a place online where we could come and grab the best inspiration, download free tools and project files, watch tutorials, and learn more about our industry.

Campfire has three core platforms — STANDARD, PRO, ENTERPRISE.

Standard Account Features

With a standard account users can browse tens of thousands of images and video all categorized and curated according to specific creative disciplines. If you are a filmmaker, you can discover hundreds of videos on film production, storytelling, editing, camera movements and more. You can also browse countless scenes from classic films broken down into color, composition, shot style and more. If you are into typography or illustration we have countless ideas and more being added daily by users. Our basic platform is designed to deliver the best inspiration and allow you to categorize and catalogue those ideas as you see fit. On top of this you get to view artist portfolios, and agency profiles, comment, share and build relationships with industry professionals. We provide helpful search suggestions and our predictive search will help you to find the content you are looking for faster.
